3 Methods. 3 Hours. How Many Fish Can I Catch?! | Fishing Challenge
What happens when you give a beginner angler three hours, three fishing methods, and a slightly questionable level of confidence?
This fishing challenge puts it to the test.
In this session, I set out to catch as many fish – and as many species – as possible using feeder fishing, ledger fishing, and float fishing, giving each method one hour. The result? A mix of chaos, small wins, and one very unexpected potential personal best fish right at the end.

🧠 What This Video Covers
This isn’t a “perfect angler” video. It’s real fishing – mistakes, learning, and figuring things out as it happens.
In this challenge, you’ll see:
- 🎯 Feeder fishing with maggots to build a baited swim
- 🎣 Switching to a ledger setup to target bigger fish
- 🤷♂️ Finishing with float fishing to try and catch anything that moves
- ❌ Tangled rigs, missed casts, and fish showing anywhere but where I am
- 🐟 A last-minute surge including a surprise…
If you’re into UK coarse fishing, beginner fishing tips, or honest fishing content, this is exactly what you’ll get.
🏁 The Results
After 3 hours…you’ll have to watch the film to find out!

💬 Final Thoughts
This is exactly what The Cast & The Curious is about:
👉 Expert enthusiasm. Beginner results.
Fishing isn’t always about smashing it every session. Sometimes it’s:
- learning what doesn’t work
- adapting on the fly
- and celebrating the small wins (and the occasional PB)
